October in Florida

Report Date: October 1, 2011

For the first fall in ten years I did not go to Montauk. It was nice to fish Biscayne Bay in the fall which I had not done in a long time. Water temps averaged 85 degrees and provided lots of opportunity to permit fish.

Larrys' first permit

There are still some tarpon around but they are hit and miss. Bonefishing was also good. Shark fishing was excellent. As we get into November we start to enjoy good fishing in the channels for jacks, ladyfish, pompano, bluefish, spanish mackerel, etc. etc.

Big crevalle on a popper.
